Kings Worthy Pre-School aims to:

  1. Provide high quality care and education for children from the age of two until they are ready to start school.

  2. Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop.

  3. Offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.

Kings Worthy Pre-School ensures that each child:

  1. Is treated as unique. With this in mind we aim to work in partnership with our parents to provide a safe, secure environment that encourages the children’s development.

The Pre-School Setting:

At Kings Worthy Pre-School, we cover all the areas of learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) by offering a range of fun and educational activities and opportunities for Pre-School children. There are 7 areas of learning and development which guide our practitioner’s engagement with your child’s play and activities as they learn new skills and knowledge.

The EYFS Framework explains how and what your child will be learning to support their healthy development.

Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding.Children should mostly develop the 3 prime areas first.

These are:

  1. Communication and language;

  2. Physical development; and

  3. Personal, social and emotional development.

These prime areas are those most essential for your child’s healthy development and future learning.As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas. These are:

  1. Literacy;

  2. Mathematics;

  3. Understanding the world; and

  4. Expressive arts and design.

These 7 areas are used to plan your child’s learning and activities.

Our staff team will teach and support your child whilst making sure that the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs.

This is a like a curriculum in primary and secondary schools, but it's suitable for very young children, and it's designed to be flexible so that staff can follow your child's unique needs and interests. Children in the EYFS learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.
